League leaders Manchester Futsal Club picked up where they left off before the beginning of the new year with an emphatic 14- 2 victory over Liverpool Futsal Club on Saturday afternoon.
The opening exchanges were somewhat cagey, but with the visitors struggling at the foot of the table, the task at hand seemed too overwhelming as Manchester took a commanding 6-1 scoreline into the half time interval.
The second half unravelled much like the first, and a flurry of goals followed in what turned out to be a hugely one sided afair. With just two points dropped all season for Manchester, it was normal service resumed.
Leanne Skarrat's side appear to be going from strength to strength this season, and we caught up with her after the victory where she expressed her jubilation after a long Christmas break.
"It was a good restart for us after quite a long break. What was good to see was how we grew into the game and into our stride again. We created plenty of chances, and this creativity will be needed as we go into our next game".
With second-place Cheshire Ladies next on the fixture list for Manchester, Skarrat went on to highlight the threat they can pose, but remains confident her side can maintain their impeccable run of form.
"We drew 3-3 with Cheshire earlier on in the season. They're a well organised side with players who can hurt you going forward. So we're looking forward to rising to that challenge. I feel we're now in a better place than we were earlier on in the season, so hopefully that will help us too".
