Boss Sergi Saldana looks towards Leicester fixture in the NFL

Manchester's Development side will look to extend their 100% record in the National Futsal Premiership North as they prepare to face Leicester at the FIVES Soccerdome Trafford on Sunday.

The Young Blues got off to the perfect start after beating their local rivals Liverpool 9-6 at the I M Marsh Campus in their opening game. Braces from Uriel Aruajo, Raphe Barber and Jake Barnes helped the Blues on their way to victory on Merseyside. Contributions from Scott Thompson, Victor Delgado and Charlie Goddard rounded off the scoring tally.

Their opponents Leicester were edged out in their first game as they fell 5-3 to a plucky Sheffield FC side at the University of Nottingham.

Rodrigo Costa scored two goals in the final three minutes of the game that turned out to be consolations for the host. The Foxes' pivot will be one player to keep an eye on during this affair.

Head coach Sergi Saldana spoke to Manchesterfutsal.com about his thoughts towards the encounter, as he emphasised the importance of young players getting a taste of top level futsal to improve their development.

"As I said many times, we have plenty of young good players and them playing the NFL is a good opportunity to show what they are learning and improving", said Saldana.

"We will play against very good first team clubs and we have to learn at same time that we are competing. But in the end, it's a good chance for these lads to show how good they are and to show that they play very good futsal."

"It's the second game and we know that all games will be complicated but I think we are ready for it. I feel very confident to win if we play like we are training lately."

The youngsters will be set to face the East Midlands-outfit at the FIVES Soccerdrome Trafford, with kick off set for 12:30pm on Sunday. Tickets for aduts are £6, U16s £2 and students £2.50. These can be purchased on arrival.
