MATCH PREVIEW: Manchester Development v Bolton

by Riegan Thompson

Manchester futsal are in FA Cup action today as they host Bolton in the preliminary round of the competition.

The FA Cup draw placed division two north’s top two sides against each other and promised to be a highly entertaining encounter.

Prior to the game we spoke to Assistant Head Coach Steven Jackson for his thoughts on the game.

Steven firstly addresses the fantastic form the development side has been in. “We have had some good results recently but that’s never been mine or Russell’s main focus. Our aims are clear at the start of the season and so far we are pleased with the way the squad has been progressing each week. Sergi has been vocal in his praise for our squad, so we are looking for that to continue.“

On the opposition Steven stated, “We know Bolton will be difficult opponents - they’ve had a great start to the season and always provide us with a tough challenge at any level we play them at.”

He added, “Overall, we are looking forward to the game and whichever players take the court, I have great confidence in them and the development we are seeing week in, week out will be expected to continue on Sunday.”

Finally, Steven provided us with a update on team selection. “We have a couple of players missing this week for a good reason - Harry and Raphe will be in the first team squad for the FA Cup and therefore aren’t available. Rylan is still injured and we hope his recovery is coming along well.”

Manchester Development take on Bolton at the Trafford Soccerdome (17:30 KO) on Sunday 2nd December.
