Manchester Futsal Club invited to compete against England Futsal Team

Manchester Futsal Club will face the England National Futsal squad in a friendly fixture as part their pre-season preparations. Club officials were approached by FA National Small-Sided Game Manager Simon Walker about becoming involved in the upcoming England training camp and have accepted the offer of a fixture on Sunday 08 November at Point 4 in Hereford.
“This is a great opportunity for the club and is recognition of the squad that we have assembled in being chosen as opposition for the national side. We have a number of English players that will also use this opportunity to present their case for inclusion in Peter Sturgess’s squad.” commented Head Coach Rodrigo Freitas.
The fixture is likely to see Manchester players line up against former teammate and England international Doug Reed. All of the players are certainly looking forward to catching up with him since his move to Spanish 2nd Division side Lanzarote Tias Yaiza
“We will know all about one of their players! Doug is a great example as to what can be achieved in English futsal and he has made great strides since gaining his place in the national squad. Of course we miss his presence on the court but we now have a number of exciting players at the club that are all looking to stake their claim for the 2010/11 season” explained General Manager Simon Wright.
